Stephen GaghanΒ (/ΛΙ‘eΙͺΙ‘Ιn/Β GAY-gΙn;Β born May 6, 1965) is an American screenwriter and director.Β He is noted for writing the screenplay forΒ Steven Soderbergh's filmΒ Traffic,Β based on aΒ Channel 4 series, for which he won theΒ Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay andΒ Syriana, which he wrote and directed. He also wrote and directed the thrillerΒ Abandon, the family filmΒ Dolittle, and the dramaΒ Gold.
