Sean Patrick HayesΒ (born June 26, 1970)Β is an American actor, comedian, and producer. Known for his performances on stage and screen, he gained acclaim for his role asΒ Jack McFarlandΒ on theΒ NBCΒ sitcomΒ Will & Grace, for which he won aΒ Primetime Emmy AwardΒ and fourΒ Screen Actors Guild Awards. He has also received nominations for sixΒ Golden Globe AwardsΒ and twoΒ Tony Awards, winning one.
He also runs a television production company called Hazy Mills Productions, which produces shows such asΒ Grimm,Β Hot in Cleveland,Β The Soul Man, andΒ Hollywood Game Night. He portrayedΒ Jerry LewisΒ in theΒ CBSΒ filmΒ Martin and LewisΒ (2002). He is known for his appearances in films such asΒ Billy's Hollywood Screen KissΒ (1998),Β Cats & DogsΒ (2001),Β Pieces of AprilΒ (2003),Β The Cat in the HatΒ (2003),Β Win a Date with Tad Hamilton!Β (2004),Β The Bucket ListΒ (2007),Β IgorΒ (2008),Β The Three StoogesΒ (2012),Β Monsters UniversityΒ (2013), andΒ Am I OK?Β (2022). Since July 2020, he has co-hosted the comedy podcastΒ SmartLessΒ alongsideΒ Jason BatemanΒ andΒ Will Arnett.
Hayes made his Broadway debut playing Chuck Baxter in the musical revivalΒ Promises, PromisesΒ in 2010, for which he was nominated for theΒ Tony Award for Best Leading Actor in a Musical. He portrayed God in the comedyΒ An Act of GodΒ from 2015 to 2016. Oscar LevantΒ in theΒ Doug WrightΒ playΒ Good Night, OscarΒ in 2022, the latter of which earned him theΒ Tony Award for Best Leading Actor in a Play. He hosted theΒ 64th Tony AwardsΒ in 2010, for which he was awarded aΒ Primetime Emmy Award.
