Samuel George ClaflinΒ (/ΛklΓ¦flΙͺn/; born 27 June 1986) is an English actor. After graduating from theΒ London Academy of Music and Dramatic ArtΒ in 2009, he began his acting career on television. He had his first film role asΒ Philip SwiftΒ inΒ Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger TidesΒ (2011).
Claflin gained wider recognition for playingΒ Finnick OdairΒ inΒ The Hunger GamesΒ film seriesΒ (2013β2015) and for his starring roles in the romantic filmsΒ Love, RosieΒ (2014) andΒ Me Before You (2016). He has since starred in the filmsΒ Adrift(2018) andΒ The NightingaleΒ (2018), and portrayedΒ Oswald MosleyΒ in the television seriesΒ Peaky BlindersΒ (2019β2022),Β Mycroft HolmesΒ in the mystery filmΒ Enola HolmesΒ (2020), and singer Billy Dunne in the musical drama seriesΒ Daisy Jones & the SixΒ (2023). The last of these earned him aΒ Golden Globe Award.
