Peter Hans DocterΒ (born October 9, 1968) is an American filmmaker and animator who has served asΒ Pixar's chief creative officerΒ (CCO) Β since 2018.Β He has directed the company's animated filmsΒ Monsters, Inc.Β (2001),Β UpΒ (2009),Β Inside Out (2015), andΒ SoulΒ (2020). From his nineΒ Academy AwardΒ nominations, he is a record-three-time recipient ofΒ Best Animated FeatureΒ forΒ Up,Β Inside OutΒ andΒ Soul. Docter has also won sixΒ Annie AwardsΒ from nine nominations, aΒ BAFTA Children's Film AwardΒ and aΒ Hochi Film Award.Β He describes himself as a "geeky kid from Minnesota who likes to draw cartoons".
