He began his career performing on television, featuring on Disney Channel inΒ Austin & AllyΒ (2011β2012). He had a main role in the television seriesΒ The FostersΒ from 2015 to 2018. He achieved wider recognition by starring in theΒ NetflixΒ romantic comedy filmsΒ To All the Boys franchiseΒ (2018β2021),Β Sierra Burgess Is a Loser (2018), andΒ The Perfect DateΒ (2019).
Centineo has since playedΒ Atom SmasherΒ in the superhero filmΒ Black AdamΒ (2022) and the title role in the Netflix spy-adventure seriesΒ The RecruitΒ (2022β2025). Off-screen, he is a co-founder of the charityΒ Favored Nations.
