Nicholas King NolteΒ (/ΛnoΚlti/; born February 8, 1941) is an American actor. Known for hisΒ leading manΒ roles in both dramas and romances, he has received aΒ Golden Globe AwardΒ and nominations for threeΒ Academy AwardsΒ and aΒ Primetime Emmy Award. Nolte first became famous for his role in theΒ ABCΒ miniseriesΒ Rich Man, Poor ManΒ (1976), for which he received aΒ Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or MovieΒ nomination. He won theΒ Golden Globe Award for Best Actor β Motion Picture DramaΒ forΒ The Prince of Tides (1991). He has received threeΒ Academy Award nominations forΒ The Prince of TidesΒ (1991),Β AfflictionΒ (1998), andΒ WarriorΒ (2011).
