Neve Adrianne CampbellΒ (born October 3, 1973) is a Canadian actress. After working in Canadian and American television, Campbell emerged as aΒ scream queen for her starring roles inΒ horrorΒ andΒ thriller films. She has also appeared inΒ blockbusters andΒ independent features.
Following a series of minor credits, Campbell had a starring role in the drama seriesΒ CatwalkΒ (1992β1993) and the television filmΒ The Canterville GhostΒ (1996). She subsequently relocated to the United States to star asΒ Julia SalingerΒ in theΒ FoxΒ teen drama seriesΒ Party of FiveΒ (1994β2000), which became herΒ breakthrough role. She rose to international prominence for her leading role asΒ Sidney PrescottΒ inΒ Wes Craven's slasher filmΒ ScreamΒ (1996), which spawned theΒ ScreamΒ franchise, in which she reprised her role in each film exceptΒ the sixth. She also headlined the horror filmΒ The CraftΒ (1996), the thriller filmΒ Wild ThingsΒ (1998), and the drama filmΒ PanicΒ (2000).
Campbell starred in, produced, and wrote the story forΒ Robert Altman's drama filmΒ The CompanyΒ (2003). After a hiatus, she returned to television with a recurring role on the drama seriesΒ MediumΒ (2007) and starring roles on the action seriesΒ The Philanthropist (2009) and the miniseriesΒ Titanic: Blood and SteelΒ (2012). She appeared in the action filmΒ SkyscraperΒ (2018). The drama filmΒ CloudsΒ (2020), and had starring roles on the political thriller seriesΒ House of CardsΒ (2016β2017) and the crime drama seriesΒ The Lincoln LawyerΒ (2022βpresent).
