Monica Maria BarbaroΒ (/ˈbɑːrbΙ™roʊ/;Β born June 17, 1990) is an American actress. She began training inΒ balletΒ at an early age and earned aΒ Bachelor of Fine ArtsΒ in dance fromΒ New York University. She began acting soon after college, taking on small roles in film and television in the 2010s, before her first major role in the second season ofΒ UnrealΒ (2016), followed by further television roles inΒ Chicago P.D.Β (2016–2017),Β Chicago JusticeΒ (2017),Β The Good CopΒ (2018), andΒ Splitting Up TogetherΒ (2018–2019). Her feature film debut was in theΒ independent filmΒ The CathedralΒ (2021).

Barbaro's breakthrough came with a supporting role in the action filmΒ Top Gun: MaverickΒ (2022), which she followed with starring roles in theΒ NetflixΒ action comedy seriesΒ FUBARΒ (2023–present) and asΒ Joan BaezΒ in the biopicΒ A Complete Unknown (2024). For the latter, she was nominated for theΒ SAG AwardΒ andΒ Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
