Mischa Anne Marsden BartonΒ (born 24 January 1986)Β is a British-American film, television, and stage actress. She began her career onstage, appearing inΒ Tony Kushner'sΒ Slavs!Β and took the lead inΒ James Lapine'sΒ Twelve DreamsΒ atΒ New York City'sΒ Lincoln Center. She made her screen debut with a guest appearance on the American soap operaΒ All My ChildrenΒ (1995) and voicing Betty Ann Bongo on theΒ NickelodeonΒ cartoon seriesΒ KaBlam!Β (1996β97). Her first significant film role was as the protagonist ofΒ Lawn DogsΒ (1997), a drama co-starringΒ Sam Rockwell. She appeared in major pictures such as the romantic comedyΒ Notting HillΒ (1999) andΒ M. Night Shyamalan's psychological thrillerΒ The Sixth SenseΒ (1999). She also starred in the indie crime dramaΒ PupsΒ (1999).
Barton later appeared in the independent dramaΒ Lost and DeliriousΒ (2001) and guest-starred asΒ Evan Rachel Wood's girlfriend onΒ ABC'sΒ Once and Again (2001β02).
