Michael Andrew JaceΒ (born July 13, 1962) is an American convictedΒ murdererΒ and former actor. He is best known for his role as the bisexual Los Angeles Police Officer Julien Lowe in the FX drama The Shield. He also has parts in the movies State of Play, The Replacements, Forrest Gump, The Fan, as well as an array of TV appearances including the 1995 HBO TV movie Tyson (as boxer Mitch Green), Law & Order, and the 1999 Fox TV movie Michael Jordan: An American Hero (as Jordan).
He was arrested by theΒ Los Angeles Police DepartmentΒ on the evening of May 19, 2014, at hisΒ Hyde Park,Β South Los AngelesΒ home, following aΒ domestic violence report as well as his ownΒ 9-1-1Β call, in which he stated, "I shot my wife." When police arrived, they found Jace's second wife,Β April, dead from gunshot wounds. After being questioned by police regarding his wife's death, he confessed to the shooting. On May 31, 2016, a jury convicted him ofΒ second-degree murderΒ and, on June 10, 2016, sentenced him to 40 years to life in prison. He is incarcerated at theΒ Corcoran State Prison.
