Maulik Navin PancholyΒ (/moΚliΛkΒ nΙΛvΙͺnpΓ¦nΛtΚoΚli/, born January 18, 1974) is an American actor. He is best known for his roles as Jonathan onΒ 30 Rock,Β Baljeet TjinderΒ inΒ Phineas and Ferb, Neal in the first season ofΒ Whitney, and as characters namedΒ Sanjay PatelΒ in bothΒ Weeds andΒ Sanjay and Craig. HisΒ debut novel,Β The Best at ItΒ (fromΒ Balzer + Bray/HarperCollins), is about a gay, Indian American boy coming into his own.Β In 2022, he releasedΒ Nikhil Out Loud, which tells the story of eighth-grade theatre kids rising against homophobia in their community. It won the 2023Β Lambda Literary Award for Middle-Grade Literature.
