Mark Alan RuffaloΒ (/ΛrΚfΙloΚ/; born November 22, 1967) is an American actor and producer who began his career in the late 1980s and first gained recognition for his work inΒ Kenneth Lonergan's playΒ This Is Our YouthΒ (1996) and drama filmΒ You Can Count on MeΒ (2000). He went on to star in the romantic comediesΒ 13 Going on 30Β (2004) andΒ Just like HeavenΒ (2005), and the thrillersΒ In the Cut (2003),Β ZodiacΒ (2007), andΒ Shutter IslandΒ (2010). He received aΒ Tony AwardΒ nomination for his supporting role in theΒ BroadwayΒ revival ofΒ Awake and Sing!Β in 2006. Ruffalo has gained international recognition for playingΒ Bruce Banner/HulkΒ in theΒ Marvel Cinematic Universe, beginning with The AvengersΒ (2012).
