Mark GatissΒ (/ˈɑeΙͺtΙͺs/;Β born 17 October 1966) is an English actor, comedian, screenwriter, director, producer and novelist. He is best known for his work on television, acting in and co-creating shows withΒ Steven Moffat. Gatiss has received several awards, including aΒ BAFTA TV Award, aΒ Primetime Emmy Award, aΒ Peabody Award, and twoΒ Laurence Olivier Awards.

Gatiss co-created, co-wrote and acted inΒ the BBC comedy seriesΒ The League of GentlemenΒ (1999–2002). He co-created and portrayedΒ Mycroft HolmesΒ in the BBC seriesΒ SherlockΒ (2010–2017) andΒ Frank RenfieldΒ inΒ the BBCΒ /Β NetflixΒ miniseriesΒ DraculaΒ (2020). He also wrote several episodes ofΒ Doctor WhoΒ during Moffat's tenure as showrunner and two episodes duringΒ Russell T Davies' earlier tenure. His other TV roles includeΒ Tycho NestorisΒ inΒ Game of Thrones (2014–2017),Β Stephen GardinerΒ inΒ Wolf Hall (2015), andΒ Peter MandelsonΒ inΒ CoalitionΒ (2015).
