Marc MenchacaΒ (born October 10, 1975) is an American actor, writer, and director. He was co-director, co-writer, and lead actor of the 2013Β Heartland Film FestivalΒ movieΒ This Is Where We Live and was awarded best actor at the Breckenridge Film Festival in 2016 for his lead role in the filmΒ Reparation and his lead role inΒ #LIKE, in 2021 at the Oxford Film Festival. He has appeared in several television shows, includingΒ OzarkΒ in 2018 andΒ The Sinner,Β Manifest,Β andΒ The OutsiderΒ in 2019.
Menchaca first became interested in performing as a student atΒ Central High School.Β After graduating, he attendedΒ Texas A&M University, earning a bachelor's degree in English; it was also where he acted in his first play. He participated in a summer acting program at theΒ Circle in the Square Theatre SchoolΒ inΒ ManhattanΒ before pursuing an acting career in his twenties.Β He is an alumnus of theΒ William Esper Studio.

In 2015, he played a lead role as Bob Stevens, a veteran struggling with memory loss, in the Kyle Ham-directed filmΒ Reparation.Β It earned him the best actor award at theΒ BreckenridgeFilm Festival,Β with the film receiving a further 10 festival awards, including theΒ Austin Film FesFestival'sdience Choice prize and Best Film at theΒ Santa Fe Film Festival.
In the 2018Β NetflixΒ television seriesΒ Ozark,Β Menchaca had a recurring role as Russ Langmore, a manΒ struggling to suppress his homosexuality.Β He has had regular roles on television inΒ The Sinner andΒ Manifest. He appeared again on TV withΒ Jason BatemanΒ in 2019 in theΒ Stephen KingΒ horror miniseriesΒ The Outsider, portraying Jack Hoskins for all 10 episodes.
In 2020, Menchaca won Best Actor in a Feature at theΒ Mammoth Film FestivalΒ Awards for his performance as Sam in theΒ John HyamsΒ thrillerΒ AloneΒ alongside co-starΒ Jules Willcox.Β He performed his stunts in the film, including a fight scene in the mud with Willcox. He received a further award for Best Actor in 2020 at the Oxford International Film Festival (OXIFF) in the UK for his portrayal of 'Th' Man' i'Β #Like,Β directed byΒ Sarah Pirozek. In 2021, he starred in the Santiago Menghini-directedΒ NetflixΒ horror movieΒ No One Gets Out AliveΒ with co-starΒ Cristina Rodlo.
On October 6, 2022, Menchaca married British actressΒ Lena HeadeyΒ in Apulia, Italy.Β He is of Mexican descent on his paternal side.
