MandelΒ 'Mandy'Β Bruce PatinkinΒ (born November 30, 1952) is an American actor and singer known for his work in musical theatre, television, and film. As a critically acclaimedΒ BroadwayΒ performer, he collaborates withΒ Stephen Sondheim and Andrew Lloyd Webber. His leading roles on stage and screen have received numerous accolades, including aΒ Tony AwardΒ and aΒ Primetime Emmy Award, as well as nominations for sevenΒ Drama Desk Awards, threeΒ Golden Globe Awards, and aΒ Screen Actors Guild Award.

He made his theatre debut in 1975, starring oppositeΒ Meryl StreepΒ in the revival of the comic playΒ Trelawny of the "Wells"Β atΒ The Public Theatre'sΒ Shakespeare Festival. He played Che in the first Broadway production ofΒ Andrew Lloyd Webber's Evita (1979), earning aΒ Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical, as well as the roles ofΒ Georges Seurat/George inΒ Stephen Sondheim'sΒ Sunday in the Park with George (1984) for which he was nominated for theΒ Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical. He portrayed Lord Archibald Craven in the original Broadway cast ofΒ Lucy Simon'sΒ The Secret GardenΒ (1991). On Broadway, he replacedΒ Michael RupertΒ as Marvin inΒ William Finn'sΒ FalsettosΒ (1993). He starred as Burrs inΒ The Wild PartyΒ (2000) and earned a second nomination for theΒ Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical.

He had leading roles in television shows, playing Dr. Jeffrey Geiger inΒ Chicago Hope (1994–2000); SSAΒ Jason GideonΒ in theΒ CBSΒ crime-drama seriesΒ Criminal MindsΒ (2005–2007);Β Saul BerensonΒ in theΒ ShowtimeΒ drama seriesΒ HomelandΒ (2011–2020); and Rufus Cotesworth in theΒ HuluΒ mystery seriesΒ Death and Other DetailsΒ (2024). He earned sevenΒ Primetime Emmy AwardΒ nominations for his television work, winningΒ Outstanding Leading Actor in a Drama SeriesΒ forΒ Chicago HopeΒ in 1995.
