LΓ©a HΓ©lΓ¨ne Seydoux-Fornier de ClausonneΒ (French:Β [leaΒ sΙdu]; born 1 July 1985) is a French actress. Prolific in bothΒ French cinemaΒ andΒ Hollywood, she has received fiveΒ CΓ©sar AwardΒ nominations, twoΒ LumiΓ¨res Awards, aΒ Palme d'OrΒ and aΒ BAFTA AwardΒ nomination. In 2009, she won theΒ TrophΓ©e Chopard Award for Female Revelation of the YearΒ at theΒ Cannes Film Festival. In 2016, Seydoux was appointed aΒ Dame of the Order of Arts and Letters.Β In 2022, theΒ French governmentΒ made her aΒ Dame of the National Order of Merit.
She began her acting career with her film debut inΒ GirlfriendsΒ (2006), with early roles inΒ The Last MistressΒ (2007) andΒ On WarΒ (2008). She won acclaim for her French roles inΒ The Beautiful PersonΒ (2008),Β Belle ΓpineΒ (2010), andΒ Farewell, My QueenΒ (2012). During this time, she expanded her career by appearing in supporting roles in high-profile Hollywood films, includingΒ Quentin Tarantino'sΒ Inglourious BasterdsΒ (2009),Β Ridley Scott'sΒ Robin HoodΒ (2010),Β Woody Allen'sΒ Midnight in ParisΒ (2011) and the action filmΒ Mission: Impossible β Ghost ProtocolΒ (2011).
Her breakthrough role came with the controversial and acclaimed film Blue Is the Warmest Colour (2013), for which she received the Lumières Award for Best Actress, as well as the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival alongside her co-star Adèle Exarchopoulos. She received her second Lumières Award in the same year for the film Grand Central. She gained international attention for her role as Bond girl Madeleine Swann in Spectre (2015) and No Time to Die (2021).
