Kurt Vogel Russell (born March 17, 1951) is an American actor. At 12, he began acting in theΒ Western TV seriesΒ The Travels of Jaimie McPheetersΒ (1963β1964). In the late 1960s, he signed a ten-year contract withΒ The Walt Disney Company, where he starred as Dexter Riley in films such asΒ The Computer Wore Tennis ShoesΒ (1969),Β Now You See Him, Now You Don'tΒ (1972), andΒ The Strongest Man in the WorldΒ (1975). For his portrayal ofΒ rock and rollΒ superstarΒ Elvis PresleyΒ inΒ ElvisΒ (1979), he was nominated for theΒ Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie.
