Park Joong Eun (Korean: λ°μ€μ), known professionally as Kogonada, is a South Korean-born American filmmaker. He is known for hisΒ video essaysΒ that analyze the content, form, and structure of various films and television series. The essays frequently use narration and editing as lenses and highlight a director's aesthetic. Kogonada regularly contributes toΒ Sight & SoundΒ and is often commissioned byΒ The Criterion CollectionΒ to create supplemental videos for its home video releases. He has also written, directed and edited the feature filmsΒ Columbus (2017) andΒ After YangΒ (2021). He also directed two episodes of theΒ Star WarsΒ Disney+Β seriesΒ The AcolyteΒ (2024).
