Jonathan E. SteinbergΒ is an American television producer, screenwriter, and director. Along with Josh Schaer andΒ Stephen Chbosky, he co-created the television seriesΒ Jericho,Β where he served as writer, producer and executive story editor; JerichoΒ ran onΒ CBSΒ from September 20, 2006, through March 25, 2008.
In 2010, Steinberg developed the television seriesΒ Human Target,Β loosely based on theΒ DC Comics seriesΒ Human Target, forΒ Fox.Β He served as writer, executive producerΒ andΒ showrunnerΒ for the first season before producer Matt Miller was brought in as showrunner for the second season. Steinberg remained an executive producer.
January 2014 saw the premiere of the TV seriesΒ Black SailsΒ on theΒ StarzΒ channel. Steinberg is co-creator, executive producer, and showrunner of the series.
He worked onΒ The Old ManΒ forΒ FX and Percy Jackson & the OlympiansΒ forΒ Disney+.
Steinberg is also the brother-in-law of Pennsylvania GovernorΒ Josh Shapiro. He graduated fromΒ Harvard CollegeΒ and theΒ University of Pennsylvania Law School.
