Jon SpaihtsΒ (/speΙͺts/)Β (born February 4, 1970) is an American screenwriter and author. He is best known for co-writingΒ Denis Villeneuve'sΒ DuneΒ (2021) and its sequelΒ Dune: Part TwoΒ (2024), both films based onΒ the novel of the same nameΒ byΒ Frank Herbert. He also wrote the screenplays for the filmsΒ PrometheusΒ (2012),Β Passengers (2016) andΒ Doctor StrangeΒ (2016). For his work onΒ Dune, Spaihts was nominated for theΒ Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.
