Jesse PlemonsΒ (/ΛplΙmΙnz/; born April 2, 1988) is an American actor. He began his career as a child actor and achieved aΒ breakthrough with his role asΒ Landry ClarkeΒ in theΒ NBCΒ drama seriesΒ Friday Night LightsΒ (2006β2011). He subsequently portrayedΒ Todd AlquistΒ inΒ season 5 of theΒ AMCΒ crime drama seriesΒ Breaking Bad (2012β2013) and its sequel filmΒ El Camino: A Breaking Bad MovieΒ (2019). He received his first Primetime Emmy Award nomination for his role asΒ Ed BlumquistΒ inΒ season 2Β of theΒ FXΒ anthology seriesΒ FargoΒ (2015). He won aΒ Critics' Choice Television Award. He received a second Emmy nomination for his performance in "USS Callister", an episode of theΒ anthology seriesΒ Black MirrorΒ (2017).
Plemons has acted in supporting roles in films such asΒ The MasterΒ (2012),Β Bridge of Spies (2015),Β Game NightΒ (2018),Β The IrishmanΒ (2019),Β Judas and the Black MessiahΒ (2021) andΒ Killers of the Flower MoonΒ (2023). He starred inΒ Other PeopleΒ (2016) andΒ I'm Thinking of Ending Things (2020). For playing a rancher inΒ The Power of the DogΒ (2021), he was nominated for theΒ Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, and for playing three roles in the anthology filmΒ Kinds of KindnessΒ (2024), he won theΒ Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Actor.
