Jeremy Paul SwiftΒ (born 27 June 1960) is an English actor.Β He studied drama atΒ Guildford School of ActingΒ from 1978 to 1981. He worked almost exclusively in theatre throughout the 1980s, working with companies such as Deborah Warner's Kick Theatre and comedy performance-art group The People Show. During this period, he also appeared in numerous television commercials. In the 1990s, he acted at theΒ National TheatreΒ alongsideΒ David Tennant andΒ Richard WilsonΒ in Phyllida Lloyd's What the Butler Saw production.
Swift has acted in films such asΒ Robert Altman's murder mysteryΒ Gosford ParkΒ (2001),Β Michael Apted's historical dramaΒ Amazing GraceΒ (2006), and the family adventure filmΒ Mary Poppins ReturnsΒ (2018). He also appeared inΒ Vanity Fair (1998),Β Foyle's WarΒ (2013-2015),Β Downton Abbey (2013-2015),Β The DurrellsΒ (2016), andΒ National TreasureΒ (2016). In 2021, he was nominated for aΒ Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy SeriesΒ for his performance inΒ Ted LassoΒ for his portrayal of Leslie Higgins. In 2025, he appears as Mr Bosworth in the 5th series ofΒ All Creatures Great and Small.
