Jack O'ConnellΒ (born 1 August 1990) is an English actor. He first gained recognition for playingΒ James CookΒ in the British television seriesΒ SkinsΒ (2009β2010, 2013). He is also known for his roles inΒ This Is EnglandΒ (2006), the slasher filmΒ Eden LakeΒ (2008), the television dramasΒ DiveΒ (2010) andΒ Β UnitedΒ (2011), and theΒ NetflixΒ Wild WestΒ miniseriesΒ GodlessΒ (2017), for which he received aΒ Critics' Choice Television AwardΒ nomination.
O'Connell gave critically acclaimed performances in the independent filmsΒ Starred UpΒ (2013) andΒ '71Β (2014), garnering nominations for theΒ British Independent Film Awards.
