Hugh Michael JackmanΒ (born 12 October 1968) is an Australian actor, singer, and producer. Beginning in theatre and television, Jackman landed his breakthrough role asΒ Wolverine, playing it across theΒ X-MenΒ film franchiseΒ and in theΒ Marvel Cinematic UniverseΒ fromΒ X-MenΒ (2000) toΒ Deadpool & WolverineΒ (2024). ProminentΒ on both screen and stage, he has receivedΒ various accolades, including aΒ Primetime Emmy Award, aΒ Grammy AwardΒ and twoΒ Tony Awards, along with nominations for anΒ Academy AwardΒ and aΒ British Academy Film Award. OnΒ Broadway, he won the 2004Β Tony AwardΒ andΒ Drama Desk AwardΒ for Best Actor in a Musical for his role of Peter Allen inΒ The Boy from Oz. From 2021 to 2023, Jackman starred as con man Harold Hill in the Broadway revival of the musicalΒ The Music Man, earning another Tony Award nomination. A four-time host of theΒ Tony Awards, he won anΒ Emmy Award for hosting theΒ 2005 ceremony. He also hosted theΒ 81st Academy AwardsΒ in 2009.
