Gerard Francis ConwayΒ (September 10, 1952 - April 27, 2026) was an American comic book writer, comic book editor, science fiction writer,Β screenwriter, television writer, and television producer. He is known for co-creating theΒ Marvel ComicsΒ vigilante antiheroΒ theΒ PunisherΒ as well as theΒ Scarlet SpiderΒ (Ben Reilly), and the firstΒ Ms MarvelΒ and also writing the death of the characterΒ Gwen StacyΒ during his long run onΒ The Amazing Spider-ManΒ in theΒ story arcΒ "The Night Gwen Stacy Died".Β
AtΒ DC Comics, he is known for co-creating theΒ superheroesΒ Firestorm,Β Power Girl,Β Jason Todd, and the villainΒ Killer Croc and for writing theΒ Justice League of AmericaΒ for eight years. Conway wrote the first major, modern-dayΒ intercompany crossover,Β Superman vs. the Amazing Spider-Man.
