Frank Ewen Flowers Jr.Β (born 1979) is a CaymanianΒ independent filmmaker,Β film directorΒ andΒ screenwriter. He is the writer and director of the award-winning 2003 short filmΒ SwallowΒ and the 2004 featureΒ motion pictureΒ Haven, the first feature film to be entirely photographed on the island ofΒ Grand Cayman. Flowers is a graduate of theΒ University of Southern CaliforniaΒ School of Cinema-TelevisionΒ (now the USC School of Cinematic Arts).
Flowers also co-wroteΒ Metro ManilaΒ with directorΒ Sean Ellis. The film won an audience award at theΒ Sundance Film Festival. It was nominated for aΒ BAFTAΒ in 2014 after winning numerousΒ British Independent Film Awards. In 2015, he was commissioned to scriptΒ Shooting Stars, a film about the teenage years of basketball legendΒ LeBron James, forΒ Universal Studios. The film was produced by James and his partner, Maverick Carter, alongside Academy Award nomineesΒ Rachel andΒ Terence Winter. Flowers also co-wrote theΒ Bob Marley: One LoveΒ biopic for directorΒ Reinaldo Marcus GreenΒ and is the co-writer and director ofΒ The Bluff, which Amazon MGM Studios are releasing.
