Florence PughΒ (/pjuΛ/Β PEW; born 3 January 1996) is an English actress.Β Her accoladesΒ include aΒ British Independent Film Award, as well as nominations for anΒ Academy AwardΒ and threeΒ BAFTA Awards.
After making her acting debut in the drama filmΒ The FallingΒ (2014), Pugh gained praise for starring in the independent dramaΒ Lady MacbethΒ (2016) and the miniseriesΒ The Little Drummer GirlΒ (2018). Her international breakthrough came in 2019 with her portrayals of professional wrestlerΒ PaigeΒ in the sports filmΒ Fighting with My Family, a despondent American woman in the horror filmΒ Midsommar, andΒ Amy MarchΒ in the period dramaΒ Little Women. For the last of these, she was nominated for theΒ Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
Pugh has playedΒ Yelena BelovaΒ in theΒ Marvel Cinematic Universe, starring in the filmsΒ Black WidowΒ (2021),Β Thunderbolts*Β (2025), Avengers: Doomsday (2026) and Avengers: Secret Wars, as well as theΒ Disney+Β miniseriesΒ HawkeyeΒ (2021). In her highest-grossing releases, she voicedΒ Goldilocks inΒ Puss in Boots: The Last WishΒ (2022), and portrayedΒ Jean TatlockΒ inΒ OppenheimerΒ (2023) andΒ Princess IrulanΒ inΒ Dune: Part TwoΒ (2024); she also continued to gain praise for her performances in dramas such asΒ We Live in TimeΒ (2024).
