Felicity Rose Hadley JonesΒ (born 17 October 1983) is an English actress. She began her professional acting career as a child, appearing inΒ The Treasure SeekersΒ (1996) at age 12. She went on to playΒ Ethel HallowΒ for one series of the television seriesΒ The Worst WitchΒ (1998). In 2008, she appeared in theΒ Donmar WarehouseΒ production ofΒ The Chalk Garden.
Since 2006, Jones has appeared in the filmsΒ Northanger AbbeyΒ (2007),Β Brideshead RevisitedΒ (2008),Β ChΓ©riΒ (2009),Β The TempestΒ (2010),Β The Amazing Spider-Man 2(2014), andΒ True StoryΒ (2015). She received praise for her performances in the romantic dramaΒ Like CrazyΒ (2011) and the biopicΒ The Theory of EverythingΒ (2014). Her portrayal ofΒ Jane HawkingΒ in the latter earned her nominations for theΒ BAFTAΒ andΒ the Academy Award for Best Actress.
In 2016, Jones starred in the thrillerΒ Inferno, the fantasy dramaΒ A Monster Calls, and the space operaΒ Rogue One: A Star Wars StoryΒ asΒ Jyn Erso.Β She has since portrayedΒ Ruth Bader GinsburgΒ in the biopic On the Basis of SexΒ (2018). She has starred in the streaming filmsΒ The AeronautsΒ (2019),Β The Midnight SkyΒ (2020) andΒ The Last Letter from Your LoverΒ (2021), as well as the period dramaΒ The BrutalistΒ (2024), which earned her a nomination for theΒ Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
