David Samuel GoyerΒ (born December 22, 1965) is an American filmmaker, novelist, and comic book writer. He is best known for writing theΒ screenplaysΒ and stories for severalΒ superhero films, includingΒ Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. (1998), theΒ BladeΒ trilogy (1998β2004),Β Christopher Nolan'sΒ Dark KnightΒ trilogyΒ (2005β2012),Β Man of SteelΒ (2013), andΒ Batman v Superman: Dawn of JusticeΒ (2016). He has also directed four films:Β Zig ZagΒ (2002),Β Blade: Trinity (2004),Β The InvisibleΒ (2007), andΒ The Unborn (2009). He is the creator of the science fiction television seriesΒ Foundation, which is loosely based on theΒ FoundationΒ seriesΒ written by Isaac Asimov.
Goyer was co-writer of the video gamesΒ Call of Duty: Black Ops,Β Call of Duty: Black Ops II, andΒ Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. He won aΒ Saturn Award for Best WritingΒ forΒ Batman Begins (2005), received another nomination forΒ Dark City, and was nominated for fourΒ Hugo Awards.
