Colin TrevorrowΒ (US:Β /trΙΛvΙΛroΚ/;Β born September 13, 1976) is an American film director, producer, and screenwriter. He made his feature directorial debut with the science fiction comedyΒ Safety Not GuaranteedΒ (2012), which was a critical and commercial success. Trevorrow achieved mainstream recognition for theΒ Jurassic WorldΒ franchise, which began when he co-wrote and directed theΒ eponymous first instalmentΒ in 2015. The film earned more than $1.6 billion at the worldwide box office. After the success ofΒ Jurassic World, Trevorrow co-wrote the 2018 sequelΒ Fallen KingdomΒ and co-wrote and directed the third instalmentΒ Dominion (2022). He was also the co-writer and director ofΒ Star Wars: Duel of the FatesΒ until his departure in 2017. However, he retained story credit when the project was re-envisioned asΒ The Rise of Skywalker.Β
In 2019, Trevorrow founded his film and TV production company, Metronome Film Co., based in London and Los Angeles.
