Christopher McQuarrieΒ (born October 25, 1968) is an American screenwriter, film director, and producer. He received theΒ BAFTA Award,Β Independent Spirit Award, andΒ Academy Award for Best Original ScreenplayΒ for the neo-noir mystery filmΒ The Usual SuspectsΒ (1995). He made his directorial debut with the crime thriller filmΒ The Way of the GunΒ (2000).Β
McQuarrie is a frequent collaborator withΒ Tom Cruise, having written and directed the action filmsΒ Jack ReacherΒ (2012), as well as four instalments of theΒ Mission: ImpossibleΒ film series:Β Rogue NationΒ (2015),Β FalloutΒ (2018),Β Dead ReckoningΒ (2023), andΒ The Final ReckoningΒ (2025).
