Christopher Jacob AbbottΒ (born February 10, 1986) is an American actor. He is known for his work in television, independent films, and theatre. In 2011, he made his feature film debut inΒ Martha Marcy May MarleneΒ and hisΒ BroadwayΒ debut in the revival of the playΒ The House of Blue Leaves. He then gained recognition for his role as Charlie in theΒ HBOΒ seriesΒ Girls.Β In 2026, he returned to Broadway, portrayingΒ Biff LomanΒ in the revival ofΒ Death of a Salesman, for which he received a nomination for theΒ Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play.
Abbott received a nomination for theΒ Independent Spirit Award for Best Male LeadΒ for the drama filmΒ James WhiteΒ (2015) and aΒ Golden Globe Award nomination for his portrayal ofΒ Capt. YossarianΒ in theΒ HuluΒ miniseriesΒ Catch-22Β (2019). He had supporting roles in the filmsΒ A Most Violent Year (2014),Β It Comes at NightΒ (2017),Β First ManΒ (2018),Β PossessorΒ (2020),Β Black BearΒ (2020), andΒ Poor ThingsΒ (2023). He played the titular character in the filmΒ Wolf ManΒ (2025). Abbott also starred inΒ The SinnerΒ (2017) onΒ USA NetworkΒ and theΒ Apple TV+Β seriesΒ The Crowded RoomΒ (2023).
