Christopher Matthew MillerΒ (born January 20, 1968) is an American animator, director, and voice actor employed byΒ Paramount AnimationΒ and formerlyΒ DreamWorks Animation. He is best known for directingΒ Shrek the ThirdΒ andΒ Puss in BootsΒ (for which he received his first Academy Award nomination) and for voicing The Magic Mirror from theΒ ShrekΒ film series andΒ Kowalski the PenguinΒ in theΒ MadagascarΒ film series.
Miller was born on January 20, 1968, inΒ Washington, D.C. He studied animation at theΒ California Institute of Arts.
In an interview withΒ Robert K. ElderΒ forΒ The Film That Changed My Life, Miller attributes his success in film toΒ Sleeper. "I would be penniless and drunk on the corner, begging for cash, if I had not seen the filmΒ Sleeper. I guarantee you."
In 2011, Miller directedΒ Puss in Boots, a spin-off and sequel to theΒ ShrekΒ franchise. His wife, Laura Gorenstein Miller, worked as a dance choreographer.
