Carrie Alexandra CoonΒ (born January 24, 1981) is an American actress. Known for her portrayals of complex characters on stage and screen, she has received aΒ Critics' Choice Television Award, as well as nominations for threeΒ Primetime Emmy AwardsΒ and aΒ Tony Award.
On television, her breakout role was as Nora Durst in the drama seriesΒ The LeftoversΒ (2014β2017). Subsequently, she received her first nomination forΒ Primetime Emmy AwardsΒ forΒ Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or MovieΒ for her role asΒ Gloria BurgleΒ in theΒ third seasonΒ of the black comedy crime anthology seriesΒ FargoΒ (2017), her second forΒ Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama SeriesΒ for playing Bertha Russell in the period drama seriesΒ The Gilded AgeΒ (2022βpresent) and her third forΒ Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama SeriesΒ for her role as Laurie Duffy in theΒ third seasonΒ of the satirical dramedy anthology seriesΒ The White LotusΒ (2025).
She made her film debut inΒ Gone GirlΒ (2014), with further roles in films such asΒ The PostΒ (2017),Β WidowsΒ (2018),Β The NestΒ (2020),Β Boston Strangler (2023), andΒ His Three DaughtersΒ (2024). She has also portrayed characters inΒ blockbusterΒ films such asΒ Proxima MidnightΒ inΒ Avengers: Infinity War(2018) and Callie Spengler inΒ Ghostbusters: AfterlifeΒ (2021) and its sequel,Β Ghostbusters: Frozen EmpireΒ (2024). On stage, Coon made herΒ BroadwayΒ debut as the naive wife Honey in the revival ofΒ Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?Β (2012), for which she was nominated for theΒ Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play.
