Byron P. HowardΒ (born December 26, 1968) is an American animator, character designer, story artist, film director, producer, and screenwriter. He is best known as one of the directors of theΒ Walt Disney Animation StudiosΒ filmsΒ BoltΒ (2008),Β TangledΒ (2010),Β Zootopia (2016),Β EncantoΒ (2021), andΒ Zootopia 2Β (2025). He is the first LGBT director to win theΒ OscarΒ for Best Animated Feature twice for his work onΒ ZootopiaΒ andΒ Encanto.
