Bradley Charles CooperΒ (born January 5, 1975) is an American actor and filmmaker. He is the recipient ofΒ various accolades, including aΒ British Academy Film AwardΒ and threeΒ Grammy Awards. In addition, he has been nominated for twelveΒ Academy Awards, sixΒ Golden Globe Awards, and aΒ Tony Award. Cooper appeared on theΒ Forbes Celebrity 100Β list three times and onΒ Time's list of theΒ 100 most influential people in the worldΒ in 2015.Β His filmsΒ have grossed $13Β billion worldwide, and he has been ranked among the world's highest-paid actors four times.
Cooper began his television and film career in 1999 with a guest role in the television seriesΒ Sex and the City.Β In 2000, he enrolled in theΒ Master of Fine Arts (MFA)Β program at theΒ Actors Studio. Shortly after, he made his film debut with a role in the comedyΒ Wet Hot American SummerΒ (2001), followed by roles asΒ Will TippinΒ in the television seriesΒ AliasΒ (2001β2006) and a supporting part in the comedy filmΒ Wedding CrashersΒ (2005). Cooper's breakthrough came with the comedyΒ The HangoverΒ (2009), which also spawned sequels inΒ 2011Β andΒ 2013. He gained further recognition for voicingΒ RocketΒ across six films in theΒ Marvel Cinematic Universe, beginning withΒ Guardians of the GalaxyΒ (2014). On stage, Cooper portrayedΒ Joseph MerrickΒ in aΒ BroadwayΒ revival ofΒ The Elephant Man. Cooper was namedΒ PeopleΒ magazine'sΒ Sexiest Man AliveΒ in 2011.
