Benjamin Schiff PlattΒ (born September 24, 1993)Β is an American actor and singer. The son of film and theatre producerΒ Marc PlattΒ and philanthropistΒ Julie Platt, he began his acting career inΒ musical theatreΒ as a child. He appeared in productions ofΒ The Sound of MusicΒ (2006) andΒ The Book of MormonΒ (2012β2015),Β rising to prominenceΒ for originating theΒ title roleΒ in theΒ BroadwayΒ coming-of-age musicalΒ Dear Evan HansenΒ (2015β2017). His performance in the latter earned him multiple accolades, including theΒ Tony Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role in a MusicalΒ (making him the youngest solo recipient of the award at the time),Β aΒ Daytime Emmy, and aΒ Grammy Award.Β Platt reprised the role of Evan Hansen in theΒ 2021 film adaptationΒ of the musical produced by his father.Β He then playedΒ Leo FrankΒ in the 2022Β New York City CenterΒ Gala production ofΒ Parade, which transferred to Broadway in 2023 and earned another Tony and Grammy nomination.

Platt's second studio album, Reverie,Β was released on August 13, 2021.Β After signing withΒ InterscopeΒ in 2023, Platt's third studio album, Honeymind,Β was released on May 31, 2024.
