Aubrey Christina PlazaΒ (born June 26, 1984) is an American actress, comedian, and producer. As a teenager, she began acting in local theatre productions and performedΒ improvΒ andΒ sketch comedyΒ at theΒ Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. After graduating fromΒ New York University Tisch School of the Arts, Plaza made her feature film debut inΒ Mystery TeamΒ (2009). She gained wide recognition for her role asΒ April LudgateΒ on theΒ NBCΒ political satireΒ sitcomΒ Parks and Recreation (2009β2015).
In film, Plaza had a supporting role inΒ Scott Pilgrim vs. the WorldΒ (2010) and a leading role inΒ Safety Not GuaranteedΒ (2012). From 2017 to 2019, Plaza portrayed theΒ Shadow KingΒ andΒ Lenny BuskerΒ in the critically praisedΒ FX superhero seriesΒ Legion and produced and starred in the 2017 black comedy filmsΒ The Little HoursΒ andΒ Ingrid Goes West. She also starred in the romantic comedyΒ Happiest SeasonΒ and thrillerΒ Black BearΒ (both 2020) and produced and played the title character in the crime filmΒ Emily the CriminalΒ (2022).
Plaza received a Primetime Emmy Award nominationΒ and aΒ Golden Globe AwardΒ for her role as a strait-laced lawyer in theΒ second seasonΒ of theΒ HBOΒ anthology seriesΒ The White Lotus (2022).Β TimeΒ magazine named her one of theΒ 100 most influential people in the worldΒ in 2023. In 2024, she starred asΒ Rio VidalΒ in theΒ Marvel Cinematic UniverseΒ miniseriesΒ Agatha All Along.
