Andrew Taylor WeirΒ (/wΙͺΙr/; born June 16, 1972) is an AmericanΒ novelist.Β His 2011 novelΒ The MartianΒ was adapted into the 2015Β film of the same nameΒ directed byΒ Ridley Scott. He received theΒ John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer in 2016, and his 2021 novelΒ Project Hail Mary was a finalist for the 2022Β Hugo Award for Best Novel.
