Allu Arjun is an Indian actor and entrepreneur who predominantly works in Telugu cinema, celebrated for his versatile screen presence and dancing prowess. Born on April 8, 1982, in Madras (present-day Chennai), Tamil Nadu, he is the son of prominent film producer Allu Aravind and the grandson of legendary comedic actor Allu Ramalingaiah.
After appearing as a child artist in films like *Vijetha* (1985) and making a dancer cameo in *Daddy* (2001), he made his full-fledged debut as a lead actor in K. Raghavendra Rao's romantic drama *Gangotri* (2003). He rose to massive stardom with a string of early commercial successes, including Sukumar's cult hit *Arya* (2004), *Bunny* (2005), *Desamuduru* (2007), and *Parugu* (2008). Over the following decades, he cemented his status as a leading powerhouse of Indian cinema, delivering major critical and box-office blockbusters across diverse genres such as *Arya 2* (2009), the ensemble drama *Vedam* (2010), *Julayi* (2012), *Race Gurram* (2014), *S/O Satyamurthy* (2015), the historical epic *Rudhramadevi* (2015), *Sarrainodu* (2016), *Duvvada Jagannadham* (2017), and the industry record-breaker *Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo* (2020).
He attained unprecedented global and pan-Indian stardom portraying Pushpa Raj in Sukumar's action drama franchise *Pushpa: The Rise* (2021) and its mega-blockbuster sequel *Pushpa 2: The Rule* (2024). For *Pushpa: The Rise*, he made history by becoming the first Telugu actor to win the National Film Award for Best Actor. He is also the recipient of six Filmfare Awards South, three Nandi Awards, and multiple South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA). Beyond cinema, he is an active entrepreneur, owning the theater chains AAA Cinemas and Allu Cinemas, which houses India's largest Dolby Cinema.
