Alan Michael YangΒ (Chinese:Β ζ₯ηΆζ¦; born August 22, 1983) is an American screenwriter, producer and director. He was a writer and producer for theΒ NBCΒ sitcomΒ Parks and Recreation, for which he received his first Emmy nomination. WithΒ Aziz Ansari, Yang co-created theΒ NetflixΒ seriesΒ Master of None, which premiered in 2015 to critical acclaim. The series was awarded aΒ Peabody Award, and at theΒ 68th Emmy AwardsΒ in 2016, Yang and Ansari wonΒ Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series forΒ Master of NoneΒ and became the first writers of Asian descent to win in the category, which was also nominated in theΒ Β Outstanding Comedy Series category. Yang also was the screenwriter of the 2014 comedyΒ Date and Switch. In 2018, Yang co-created theΒ Amazon VideoΒ seriesΒ Forever.
