Alan CummingΒ (born 27 January 1965) is a Scottish actor, writer and presenter. Known for his rolesΒ on stage and screen, he has receivedΒ numerous accolades, including aΒ BAFTA Award, twoΒ Emmy Awards, twoΒ Tony Awards, and anΒ Olivier Award. He received theΒ Laurence Olivier Award for Best Comedy PerformanceΒ for theΒ West EndΒ production ofΒ Accidental Death of an AnarchistΒ (1991). His other Olivier-nominated roles were inΒ The Conquest of the South Pole (1988),Β La BΓͺteΒ (1992), andΒ CabaretΒ (1994). Cumming won theΒ Tony Award for Best Actor in a MusicalΒ for reprising his role as the Emcee onΒ BroadwayΒ inΒ CabaretΒ (1998). His other performances on Broadway includeΒ Design for LivingΒ (2001) andΒ MacbethΒ (2013).
