Akiva GoldsmanΒ (born July 7, 1962) is an American filmmaker.
Goldsman's filmography as aΒ screenwriterΒ includesΒ The Client;Β Batman ForeverΒ and its sequelΒ Batman & Robin;Β I, Robot;Β I Am Legend;Β Cinderella Man; and numerous rewrites (some credited, some uncredited). He wrote over a dozen episodes for the science fiction television seriesΒ Fringe.
In 2002, Goldsman received theΒ OscarΒ forΒ Best Adapted ScreenplayΒ and theΒ Golden Globe AwardΒ forΒ Best ScreenplayΒ for the 2001 filmΒ A Beautiful Mind, which also won theΒ Academy Award for Best Picture. In 2006, Goldsman re-teamed withΒ director Ron Howard of A Beautiful Mind to adaptΒ Dan Brown's novelΒ The Da Vinci CodeΒ for Howard'sΒ film. He also wrote the screenplay for its 2009 sequelΒ Angels & Demons.
Goldsman is also known for co-developing theΒ DC ComicsΒ TV seriesΒ TitansΒ and theΒ Paramount+Β seriesΒ Star Trek: Picard, a sequel toΒ Star Trek: The Next GenerationΒ andΒ Star Trek: Nemesis. He is also the co-creator ofΒ Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, a prequel toΒ Star Trek: The Original Series.
